An incredible photograph has captured a stunning view of the sun, with a towering wall of plasma reaching high above its surface. The image was captured by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) and reveals the mesmerizing beauty of the sun's magnetic field lines.

The wall of plasma, also known as a prominence, is a vast cloud of gas that is suspended above the sun's surface by the star's powerful magnetic field. These structures can reach incredible heights, and this particular prominence is estimated to be around 10 times the size of Earth.

The SDO captured the image using its Atmospheric Imaging Assembly instrument, which is capable of observing the sun in 10 different wavelengths of ultraviolet light. The resulting image shows the plasma in a bright orange color, which contrasts beautifully with the blue-black background of space.
